Alana R. Borden, MSW, LCSW

Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Welcome! I’m Alana, a compassionate therapist dedicated to supporting children, teens, and families. My journey has been shaped by deep clinical work in foster care and adoption, crisis intervention, and ER social work. I have walked alongside individuals overcoming sexual and physical abuse and trauma at every stage of life, and I have spent meaningful years providing therapy within elementary and middle school settings. These diverse experiences allow me to meet you and your family exactly where you are with understanding and care.
My practice is built on a foundation of warmth and versatility. I utilize play therapy to help children communicate, alongside CBT, DBT, and trauma-informed care to provide a safe space for healing. By integrating narrative therapy, motivational methods, and child–parent connection, I work to empower your family’s unique story. Whether we are playing, talking, or navigating tough transitions together, my goal is to help your family find the strength and resilience needed to thrive.

Rooted in Safety

We cultivate a space where children and adults feel secure enough to explore their inner world without judgment. This foundational safety is essential for meaningful growth and healing.

Play as Language

Play is the primary way children communicate. By engaging in play therapy, we help them express complex emotions and experiences through symbolic play, fostering emotional regulation.

Intentional Growth

My clinical work is grounded in child-centered play therapy, trauma-informed care, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), strengths-based therapy, solution-focused therapy, a family-centered systems approach, and attachment-based work. Therapy is tailored to the developmental needs of each child, teen, and family. Play therapy serves as a primary therapeutic approach for children, while trauma-informed, strengths-based, cognitive behavioral, solution-focused, and family-centered approaches may be integrated based on each client’s needs and goals.
